While we know that a death can come at any second in a infinite amount of ways, Blue Lives Memorial is dedicated to those who lost their life while on duty and in the performance of their duties.
The Following Guidelines Apply:
– Death must of occurred in the line of duty or from an injury sustained while in the line of duty due to:
Assault, Gun-fire, Auto Accident (while on duty), Disease and/ or Natural Causes (caused by a direct result while on duty such as a Heart Attack).
– Must be a U.S. Law Enforcement Officer.
The Following Guidelines Do Not Apply:
-Suicide.
-Death caused while in training or by training.
-Death caused by, or while under, voluntary alcohol or controlled substance abuse.
-Death caused by intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
-Died while serving as private security, overseas peacekeepers, government contractors, or active-duty military at time of death.
-Died while off duty (on the way to work, off work, etc…).
