Police Officer Evan Dunn was struck and killed by a drunk driver while investigating an accident on Highway 58 around 1700 hours.
Officer Dunn and his partner were both struck and got trapped underneath the car from the original accident. Officer Dunn passed at the scene. His partner survived with critical injuries. The drivers from the original accident was also injured.
The driver was apprehended on scene.
Officer Dunn served with the Golden Police Department for four months and is a U.S. Army and Army National Guard Veteran.
